In another attempt to hit the right chord, Jayanta released Postman–second solo album of Sangita. The year 1995 is crucial period where Jayanta kept things ready to launch his The Power of Attraction. Postman to some extent reflects Jayanta’s maturity in writing and composing songs. Comical songwriting pattern emerges in Thouri Yallamba Tare and Keetum Ketle. Most of his songs after 1995 were greatly influenced by the way he wrote these two numbers.
Chatloko Dolaida was the only track Jayanta sings in this album. The song is, indeed, Jayanta’s first melancholic piece composed before The Power of Attraction. Public recognition of Chatloko Dolaida was delayed due to the marginal success of Postman in the market.
Postman was released without much impact at music stores. Songs like Hello, Inkhatlakpanara and Thouri Yallamba Tare were based on popular Hindustani composition. This point marks the stage of Jayanta’s imbalance act between good lyrics and extraordinary music composition.
