Everything is available in Manipur but perfect things are just a few. After the arrival of mobile phone, popularity of the new communication technology among all young and old people in the region is spread like wildfire across the country within a couple of years. Despite bad networks and worst signals, negative impact of mobile phones on young generation is really great! Blue Tooth tells the story. The song narrates about young boys who often load blue films (porn clippings) on their mobiles and share it with their girls in love. The song characterises that the porn-loaded mobile phones trigger many young boys and girls moving towards wrong side of sex.
Of course, Nathibong in Vol 8 was the most controversial song with criticisms of containing some sensitive racial elements. But in this album, Tapta no longer cares about what critics have commented on comment on telling true stories. He cannot keep the truth in closet as Greater Nagaland is a crucial appeal to Naharols (insurgent groups) and NSCN for an immediate settlement of the territorial hullabaloos if both sides do not want a cold war in near future. The song contains a critical narration—if the current dispute of Greater Nagaland is not immediately resolved, Nagaland will definitely claim someday that Kangleipak1 was their state capital in history.
AMADA (All Manipur Anti-drug Association) is one of the leading social organisations taking major steps to control drugs and alcohol misuses in the society. But the song of the same title in the album portrays malfunctioning of such organisations in Manipur. Tapta compares the circumstance as if a drunkard looking for the post of president and a drug addict for publicity secretary at AMADA. Main theme of this song is more of those law breakers who are trying to create new laws to misguide the society.
Composed in more of a dance beat merging with a bit of khulang eishei2 element, Miss Call is the most demanded number in the album. The song symbolises the poor state of Manipur affording rich man’s accessory called mobile phone. And other numbers like Mobile Number and Recharge Card in the album depict the real pangs of penniless people who are maintaining the mobile phone culture, which is part and parcel of current social status of a common citizen in Manipur. The latter is quite a melodious composition fine-tuned with heavy metal guitar rhythm assorted in frequent breaks.
More or less, this album is Tapta’s attempt to educate young people the pros and cons of mobile phone. Most of the tracks in the album depict the negative roles played by mobile phone in love affairs of young boys and girls. Owner is responsible for the things a mad dog does around. Parents are the mains accused the nasty games played by young people with their mobile phones, narrates Tapta in the number Memory. The song sketches a a true picture of young students who are behaviourally diverting their attentions from books to mobile phones even at schools. |
